Jodee Johnson joined Park’s faculty in 2012, teaching middle school music and ESOL with an emphasis on developing the reading and writing skills necessary for success both at Park and in college. She is the Director of Park’s International Program, a role in which she organizes extracurricular activities, communicates with international student agencies, and provides support for the host families who help make our international student program so successful. Mrs. Johnson was born in Australia and moved to New York City as a teenager. This experience gave her some perspective on the transition that Park’s international students are faced with as they integrate into American culture. She began teaching English in the Czech Republic then returned to the New York City area to teach music and ESOL and attend graduate school. She returned overseas to teach in international schools in Shanghai, China where she lived for nine years. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Concordia College, Bronxville, NY and her Master’s in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at City University of New York. She and her husband, Matt, are proud parents of two sons, Caleb and Gage.
