MEET our DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS
Turner Battle, our Director of Athletics, is committed to enhancing Park's athletics department to provide all our students the opportunity to develop necessary life skills through sports including leadership, team-building, responsibility, and respect. It is also important for our students to be able to enjoy participation in a multitude of physical activities such as sports year-round. Over the last 15 years Turner has been a coach and mentor to countless young athletes at the Division I level. With extensive playing and coaching experience, Turner brings a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to our school.
Professional Basketball Career
Turner Battle was one of the nation's top point guards when he joined the UB Bulls basketball team from 2001-2005. Not only was Battle the leader of the UB team that advanced to the MAC Championship game and the School's first NIT bid, Battle also helped establish Alumni Arena as one of the hardest places to win in the MAC.
Battle's greatness was recognized as UB's first MAC Player of the Year, and he was named First-Team All-MAC and an AP All-America Honorable Mention. Following his collegiate career, Battle signed with BC Kalev/Cramo, a first division team in Estonia before briefly playing for a first division team in France. Battle then signed with the Fort Worth Flyers of the NBADL. Afterwards, Battle returned to Buffalo to play with the Buffalo Rapids of the American Basketball Association.
Our dedication to educating the whole child extends to our approach in Athletics. Every student participates in regularly scheduled physical education classes and has the opportunity to play interscholastic sports.
Our size allows us to focus on individual athletes. It also means that our student-athletes are exposed to an abundance of sporting opportunities.
Interested in a sport that we don’t currently offer? Run it by us. Your voice matters and your athletic endeavors are important to us. We will always do what we can to connect you to the sport you love.
