SUPPORTING THE PARK SCHOOL OF BUFFALO

Since The Park School of Buffalo first opened in 1912, support from our community of alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty and staff, trustees, and other friends has been integral to our growth and success.

Philanthropic giving has a long-standing tradition in independent schools such as Park, and we ask all families to contribute. This is an important way for members of our community to demonstrate support for the School’s mission now and in the future.

Our generous community makes possible tuition assistance, new programs and initiatives, faculty professional development opportunities, and capital improvements such as the newly opened Knopp-Hailpern Science Center. Every Park student is a recipient of the community’s philanthropic support.

Our history is filled with stories of the generosity of many people who have given much to Park — in time, talent, and treasure — and we invite you to join this wonderful group of supporters. The spirit of giving remains vitally important today. Thank you!

Park is a non-profit organization and gifts to the School are tax-deductible. The Development Office can provide additional information to assist donors in making a gift.

There are a number of different opportunities for making a gift to Park, including cash gifts, pledges, or gifts of stock.

IRA Rollover Contributions

Congress made the IRA rollover permanent, which means you can make thoughtful contributions to Park, satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD), and avoid income tax you would otherwise have to pay on mandatory withdrawals. This benefit is available to itemizers and non-itemizers and requires only a few simple steps.

Qualified donors may make outright gifts of up to $100,000 to charity from their IRA and avoid taxation on the distribution. For gifts to be counted toward the required minimum distribution (RMD) for any given calendar year, transfers must be made by December 31.

To benefit from this gift opportunity, the following qualifications must be met:

  • Donors must be age 70 ½ or older at the time of transfer.
  • The maximum amount a donor may transfer per year is $100,000.
  • The gift must be transferred directly from the IRA account by the IRA administrator to Park.

Donors with check-writing ability for their IRAs may use this feature to complete their gifts.

Please contact your IRA administrator for guidance or Development Office at development@theparkschool.org or 716-839-1243 x130.
