How can I make a gift to the Foundation?

You may make a gift to the Foundation in general, to a particular fund in the Foundation, or establish a fund of your own. Often, alumni and friends of Park School include a gift to the Park School Foundation through a planned or estate gift which ensures that their legacy of support will live on at Park in perpetuity. There are many options for this type of gift, and we invite your call of interest or encourage you to speak with your attorney or accountant directly. As a donor with a planned gift for the School, you will be invited to become a member of our 1912 Legacy Society, where your generosity is acknowledged in a number of ways.

How does the School benefit from the Park School of Buffalo Foundation?

While the Park School Foundation principal is invested, a percentage of the endowment is given to the School annually based on the Spending Policy of the Park School Foundation. 5% of the prior 13 quarters is the amount given back to the operating budget to support student scholarships, faculty professional development, and other programs.

What is The Park School of Buffalo Foundation?

Established in 1971 by Gilbert J. Yager (father of Patricia '58 and Katherine '61), the Foundation manages the endowment funds of the School, currently valued at approximately $3 million. The Foundation is governed by a board of trustees headed by Trudy Mollenberg.

The financial health of the School depends on growing our endowment funds on a continuous basis. While the Annual Fund secures Park's well-being each year, the future of the School lies in a strong endowment. A gift to the endowment is a wonderful way to support the School and its long-term future.

The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo (www.cfgb.org) holds and manages the Park School Foundation, bringing their financial expertise to the investing of our endowed funds as well as their wealth of knowledge to our planned giving program.
