Biography

Kaitlin Isaac joined the Performing Arts faculty at Park in August 2026 as the Instrumental Music Teacher. She teaches band and instrumental music to Grades 4–12, and takes special joy in watching students of all ages grow as musicians.

Kaitlin holds a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance and Instrumental Music Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching, both from Christopher Newport University, where she studied conducting under Mark Reimer and served as a graduate conductor for the CNU Wind Ensemble and chamber ensembles. Most recently, she spent four years teaching band at Burley Middle School in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she led three grade-level bands and jazz band, and assisted the Albemarle High School Marching Band. She also maintains a private lesson studio, where she has taught flute to students of all ages since 2024.

An active flutist, Kaitlin has performed with the CNU Wind Ensemble, University Orchestra, and a range of chamber ensembles, including performances abroad: marching in Dublin's 2016 St. Patrick's Day Parade and touring throughout Germany with the Wind Ensemble in 2017.

A New York native, Kaitlin is thrilled to be teaching in her home state again. Her goal at Park is to build a band community where students can have fun, take musical risks, and connect with one another through making music together, one of her very favorite parts of being a musician.
