Seamus Gallivan, Class of ‘96, has been part of the Park School community for nearly a third of the Park’s history - beginning as a fifth grader in 1988 and continuing since graduation as an engaged alum, part-time faculty, Board of Visitors member and now as Alumni Engagement Coordinator. In this newly created position, Seamus is connecting and reconnecting fellow alumni back to Park through on- and off-campus events and increased communication. A social connector and community builder who has lived in a majority of Buffalo's council districts and worked in every single neighborhood, Seamus began his previous careers in both professional baseball and journalism while still a student at Park; he worked at every level of professional baseball including the Buffalo Bisons along with organizations in Florida and Texas, and was a longtime freelance writer for The Buffalo News. After repatriating to Buffalo, he became a community organizer through co-founding Slow Roll Buffalo, helped launch Larkin Square, and recently debuted Reconnector, which provides radically inclusive social connection through events and media. Along the way, he earned the unique distinction in The Buffalo News of “omnipresent culture maven.” A 2000 graduate of Canisius College with a degree in communications (dual concentration in broadcast journalism and public relations), Seamus lives in his native Elmwood Village with his partner Alex and her dog - his step-dogger - Luna. In his free time, he enjoys family and community gatherings, wilderness and travel. |
