Lisa Conrad is Park School’s 20th Head of School and only the third woman to hold this position in the school’s 111 year history. She came to Park in 2012 to teach Middle and Upper School Spanish after serving as a middle and high school Spanish teacher in the Frontier Central School District and at West Seneca West Senior High School. Mrs. Conrad took on the role of Interim Head of School at Park in 2020 during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. She formed the Safe School Advisory Committee to quickly develop a plan to reopen school five days a week for in-person learning. Strategically viewing the pandemic situation as an opportunity rather than a crisis, she restructured the school to be safe, hygienic, and open, drafted a balanced budget, increased enrollment, organized efforts that designated Park as a Covid test clinic, promoted Park’s story in the media, and ensured that Park students not only did not experience learning loss but accelerated their academic skills. In recognition of Park’s success during this period and her leadership, Mrs. Conrad was named permanent Head of School by the Park Board of Trustees in July 2021. Mrs. Conrad has been involved with Girls on the Run, serves on The Park School of Buffalo Foundation Board and is a representative on the Educational Collaborative of WNY. In 2021, she was named a recipient of Business First’s 40 Under 40 award and received the Utopian Euphoria’s 2021 Women Who Walk in the Footsteps of Greatness award. Mrs. Conrad holds a Master’s Degree in Spanish Adolescence Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, both from the University at Buffalo. She is a New York State Certified Teacher and an active member of the New York State Association of Independent Schools. Lisa resides in Orchard Park with her husband Jeff, two children, Jeffrey and Giada, and dog Margot. In her spare time, Mrs. Conrad enjoys travel, hiking, Spanish-language literature and popular music. She is an expert on the philosophical dimensions and leadership lessons of Beyonce’s lyrics and biography.
