Founded in 1912, The Park School of Buffalo is a college-preparatory day school serving 300 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. Through a rigorous and progressive curriculum, the School develops in students the habits of mind and essential skills that lead to success in college and life.

The Park School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Cross Country Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes.  The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, knowledge of distance running and training, and the ability to inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential on and off the course.

Qualifications

  • Proven coaching success and/or competitive running experience
  • Strong knowledge of cross Cross Country training, race strategy, and athlete development
  • Ability to create an environment that emphasizes motivation, unity, and discipline
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must meet all district and state coaching certification requirements

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead practices focused on endurance development, race preparation and team building
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive team environment
  • Coordinate meet day logistics
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes  
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and Park administration
  • Emphasize academic, personal , and athletic development 
  • Adhere to the Park Core Values of Honesty, Respect, Kindness, and Responsibility
