About

Bethany Ward has been at Park since 2017. She teaches general music and chorus to grades Pre-K through 12, and thoroughly enjoys working with students from a wide variety of ages. Her teaching style in the lower school grades makes use of methods including Music Learning Theory and Orff-Schulwerk. In middle and upper school grades, content is student-driven. In chorus, students are able to select repertoire they are interested in learning and in general music, and students are encouraged to suggest topics of interest to them. 

Bethany holds a Masters in Music Education from The University at Buffalo, and she previously taught general music and chorus at DeSales Catholic School. Bethany also worked at Nardin Academy's K-8 after school music program and has been teaching private piano and voice lessons since 2010. 

In addition to her passion for teaching in the general music and choral classrooms, Bethany has many years of experience vocal directing musicals. She has vocal directed Park’s musicals since 2018 and vocal directed In Good Company Productions musicals since 2014. She has been a pit member in shows for the Lockport Palace Theater and has accompanied various school choral groups. Bethany also sings in one of Buffalo's top choirs, Vocalis.
